While Sisters is a town rooted in the past, we are a group of people who are always looking forward. We love traditional and charming forms of entertainment like the rodeo and the world’s biggest Quilt Show. We also love to enjoy gourmet food & drink and attend world class events like the Sisters Folk Festival, the Americana Concert Series and the My Own Two Hands art event. Whatever kind of cultural pursuits you enjoy, they are represented in our long list of festivals and events.
Sisters Folk Festival
With both indoor and outdoor venues, intimate concerts and blowout events, you’re sure to find just the right act for you in this impressive lineup. You’ll be able to walk out your door while others have to travel from around the globe to experience the Sisters Folk Festival.
My own two hands art event
Sisters students and the entire community participate in this charity event in support of music and arts programming in the Sisters schools and the community. The kick-off is the Community Parade on Friday afternoon with students from all three Sisters schools displaying their art. Donated artwork is then displayed on Friday evening in participating businesses during the My Own Two Hands Art Stroll. The Community Arts Celebration on Friday night features a free concert at The Belfry and a slideshow of all the donated artwork. On Saturday evening, the Art Auction and Party is the highlight of the weekend with a silent auction and a fast-paced live auction.
Dining
From fine dining to the best ice creamery in Central Oregon, Sisters will satisfy any craving you might have. A lazy stroll from Grand Peaks will bring you to Chops Bistro. Say hello to your new favorite place. This Matt Lindow-run restaurant features a farm-to-table menu that is sure to please. If a quick burger or fish and chips are more of what you are looking for this evening, Three Creeks Brewing offers local brews and great pub fare. The Snow Cap has dessert locked up. Featuring the best ice cream in the area, locals and travelers alike all stop here when they are looking for the goods. Boasting over 35 places to eat or drink in town, these are but a few of the dining opportunities in Sisters. Bon appétit.
Sisters Rodeo
Because in its first year, this small-town rodeo offered purses of $500, equal to Pendleton and Cheyenne, the cowboys tagged Sisters Rodeo “The Biggest Little Show in the World.” The year was 1940. The events included bull and bronc riding, calf roping, bull dogging, wild cow milking and wild horse races. Except for the announcer and the stock suppliers, the rodeo was an all-volunteer production, a tradition that has not changed. This PRCA event was voted Rodeo of the Year in 2009, and has been featured in the New York Times and on The Late Show with David Letterman. With quality stock and high purses, the best in the sport keep the Sisters Rodeo on their annual schedule. Indulge your inner rancher and enjoy the show!

Sisters Rhythm & Brews Festival
During the first weekend in August, award winning blues musicians and the best microbrews in the nation combine to present an unforgettable event. John Mayall, Walter Trout, Shemekia Copeland, Curtis Salgado, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, Nikki Hill, Mr. Sipp, Cedric Burnside, Hillstomp, Down North are just some of the world famous talent that are performing at this year’s festival.
Sisters Harvest Faire
This juried arts and crafts fair is held in downtown Sisters and features some of the best vendors around with handcrafted items. Live music sets the festive mood while you wander among the talented local and regional artists that exhibit their art.
Sisters Quilt Show
This is the biggest quilt show in the nation. People travel from all over the world to see the finest examples of this venerated Americana craft. You’ll marvel at the inventiveness and artistic talent on display. There are competitions, live music and great food and drink to enjoy only a few blocks from Grand Peaks.
4th of July Fly In & Car Show
Celebrate the best in Americana each summer at Sisters Eagle Airport, where flyers drop in to enjoy the classic car show, a 5K run/walk, tandem skydiving and more. You’ll help grow future pilots, as this event sponsors the very popular Flight Science program at Sisters High School.
Sisters Fresh Hop Festival
If you love beer, ale, IPA, stout, wheat, bitter, bock, porter, brown ale, pilsners or any other kind of oat soda then you my friend, have come to the right place. With over 25 breweries, Central Oregon has the highest per capita ratio of breweries to humans in Oregon. Sisters boasts its own brewery with Three Creeks tasting room and brewpub. This award winning micro-brewery is just waiting to become your hometown IPA. In the Fall Three Creeks partners with the Central Oregon Brewers Guild to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The Fresh Hop Festival features funky music, delicious food and beer brewed with hops that have been picked and brewed within 24 hours.
Sisters Holiday Celebration & Parade
During the Holidays, Sisters becomes even more charming and picturesque. The entire downtown is tastefully decorated with holiday regalia and beautiful lights. The Sisters Tree Lighting Ceremony is the Friday after Thanksgiving and is a great way to get in the holiday spirit. Grab a local ale and enjoy living where others come to vacation.
Shopping
High fashion and bargain hunting await in the charming center of town where you can buy the latest fashion or completely authentic western wear. A short drive away you’ll find world class merchants at the Old Mill District in Bend. A former lumber mill, it’s populated by international retailers and quaint boutiques. If shopping is your avocation, Central Oregon will scratch your itch.
