Hunter Renaissance Development LLC
Hunter Renaissance Development LLC is a venture between the principals of Hunter Investments, LLC and The Renaissance Companies, whose combined experiences range from urban infill to small town Main Street resurgence to industrial rail projects. With developments across the Midwest and in the Pacific Northwest, the members bring a depth and variety of knowledge and expertise to HRD Design that is exciting and new.
HRD portfolios represent more than twenty-five years of residential development and two decades in industrial/commercial development.

  1. Nancy J. Kapp
    Nancy, CEO of The Renaissance Companies, has been active in real estate since the 1970s and is well versed in acquisitions, financing and development vision. She's successfully crafted deals valued over $200,000,000, and is well respected in the industry. Having successfully crafted financing packages and put together investment syndications, Nancy is expert at the numbers, but more importantly, at understanding what a community or given locale needs and wants for housing and mixed-used development. She divides her time between Chicago, Oregon and Florida.
  2. Jeanmarie Kapp
    Jeanmarie is Chief Operating Officer for The Renaissance Companies, and is skilled in working with architectural and construction projects. She is creative and visualizes the perfect product while ensuring the development stays within budget. She has been in real estate development and management since 1990. Working with the project teams, Jeanmarie has influenced design by understanding how to balance surroundings with architectural interest. She handpicks finishes material like masonry, stone, flooring, cabinetry, etc. to emphasize the Renaissance standard of excellence. She is a Greyhound owner and fan.
  3. Neil Amondson
    Washington native Neil is experienced in land development, and has created syndications on large scale rail and industrial projects. He is a former state senator for Washington, and is a skilled resource collaborator. Neil has assembled multi-million dollar syndications, crafting industrial and commercial developments that have changed the economic landscape in several locations in the Pacific Northwest & Upper Midwest. He lives in Central Oregon.
Architectural/Engineering/Contracting
  1. Matt Huffield AIA LEED
    Matt has an extensive background in project types, and has been practicing architecture in the western US for more than 15 years. He's a graduate of Montana State University, obtaining his bachelor in architecture in 1995 and his master's in architecture focusing on environmental and sustainable design in 2008. Matt's portfolio of work encompasses senior and multi-family housing, public infrastructure and aviation buildings, as well as large commercial projects. His passion for architectural aesthetics, clean lines and functional spaces guides him as he crafts and creates residential and commercial spaces that meet client needs and desires, as well as delivering properties that enrich their surroundings.
  2. Kevin O'Brien AIA LEED AP
    Kevin O’Brien is a Los Angeles-based architect and educator with over 25 years of experience in the design of a wide variety of architectural projects in myriad locations. With a Masters Degree in Architecture from Yale University, Kevin's design work is influenced by his early years working with the groundbreaking firm Franklin Israel Design Associates and Richard Meier Architects, as well as the early modernist designs of Southern California. In his design work, he has always sought the integration of landscape, architecture, and craft. Kevin has received numerous awards for his work, including national recognition from the Architectural League of New York. He has written, lectured, and exhibited widely on architectural issues.
  3. Mike Szabo
    Mike Szabo is an award winning licensed landscape architect with over 17 years of experience in the landscape industry. Mike has been an integral member on design teams for a wide variety of projects ranging from corporate and educational campuses to neighborhood parks, hotel and resort renovations, retail centers, public works projects and residential garden design. His expertise has resulted in well-planned communal areas at Grand Peaks: the pickleball pavilion and event lawn, as well as the outdoor courts and the park areas. Mike has received numerous accolades and awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the San Diego Architectural Foundation, and the California Landscape Contractors Association.
  4. Hayes McCoy
    Hayes McCoy's mission is to deliver a high quality, technically competent product in a timeframe that best meets each client’s needs. The firm specializes in civil engineering, land surveying, and land use planning. This expertise has enabled Hayes to use the native aspects of the Grand Peaks site to best advantage, maximizing views of the Sisters and the surrounding forests.
  5. Pacific Home Builders
    Based in Bend, PHB has been in business since 2006, building custom homes in Central Oregon. Owner TJ Toney graduated from OSU with a Construction Engineering Mgmt degree and went to work for Walsh Construction, where he progressed from Project Engineer to Lead Superintendent. TJ and his team have made a name for themselves, delivering quality construction & project management to many customers. They specialize in custom and semi-custom homes throughout the area. They're committed to professionalism, knowledge of the industry, and deliver on their commitments. Two of their projects were featured in the 2014 Bend Tour of Homes.
